The 2024 storm season is forecast to be significantly above average. This page was developed to provide some insight into what that phrase actually means. Given the coastline of Florida extends for around 1350 miles, it’s not surprising to see that the chances of a storm affecting the Florida coast are pretty high. It is also instructive, though, to review the past history of hurricanes impacting Collier County. This paints a different picture. Perhaps the most significant information, then, is the 2024 probability of a hurricane impacting Collier County. These numbers are high enough to warrant staying up-to-date regarding actual storms.
